Description
New build 9,000m2 salads factory for bagged leaf and deli products dedicated to Marks and Spencer on a 20acre ex-colliery site.
Independent 1,500m2 2-storey offices, canteen, changing and training facilities.
The project included master planning the site for both Tilmanstone Salads and potential future uses, as well as the design and construction drawings for all of the buildings on site, including the factory, offices, energy centre, gatehouse and waste handling facility.
400m2 deli extension and extensive internal alterations completed 2009.
The design challenge was to produce an economic aesthetic for all of the buildings but with an overall effect that gave a high visual impression of the whole facility. In addition, future expansion in pre-determined zones had to be incorporated.
