Description
Arctica were employed for their architectural consultancy services for this waste to energy plant and associated buildings. Located near Heathrow the building stands 42m high with a 75m ornate chimney stack that dominates the view south of the M25/M4 junction.
Each year 420,000 tonnes of domestic waste, producing 37MW of electricity is fed back into the National Grid.
The project involved detail designs for the external skin and offices with the challenge to retain the original design concept whilst transforming it into a high quality building.
